During the month of March SWF and the Sebastopol Branch Library have teamed up for a special project to show Sebastopol’s support for our friends in the Sister City of Chyhyryn. Everyone in the community is invited to come to the library to make a peace flag to send to Chyhyrn expressing our thoughts of friendship and wishes for peace.
Students in Sebastopol’s West County High School Global and Ethnic Studies Class with their teachers Tim Forslund and Rachel Ambrose produced over 150 flags.
Our friends in Ukraine have confirmed that this kind of tangible show of solidarity is important for them, lifting their spirits and sustaining their resolve to defend and protect their country knowing that we in Sebastopol care.
